Dental Implant Restorations

Modern dental implants are permanent restorations that are designed to mirror the anatomy of natural teeth. They are nearly the same as having a new tooth and can replace as few or many missing teeth as necessary.

Because these artificial “tooth roots” are able to integrate and fuse with your healthy bone, dental implants become a permanent new part of your smile. They are both hypoallergenic and highly successful, as well as non-invasive to your surrounding smile. Implants are crafted from biocompatible materials that encourage bone fusion to the surface of the implant, which is what ensures long-term integration. After your implants are fully integrated, Dr. Hernández can install a fixed restoration such as a crown or bridge on top of them. Implant-supported “snap-in” dentures are also available!

Benefits of Dental Implants

Unlike other types of tooth replacements, implants are the only treatment that is practically identical to having real teeth all over again. Some of the most noticeable benefits of dental implants include:

  • Easy to care for
  • Eat all of the foods you love
  • Capable of lasting a lifetime
  • The best return on investment of any tooth replacement
  • An extremely high success rate
  • Non-invasive to other teeth
  • Feel and function like natural teeth

Implant Crowns and Bridges

Depending on how many missing teeth you have, crowns can be attached to individual implants, or multi-tooth bridges anchored onto a pair of implants to restore 3-4 teeth at a time.

When you smile, your implant crown or bridge should blend in nicely with the teeth on either side of it. And because implants are structurally more durable than natural teeth, you won’t have to worry about avoiding any of your favorite foods.

Snap-in Dentures (Implant Overdentures)

Implant-stabilized dentures snap into place on top of 2-4 dental implants for added stability throughout the day. These removable overdentures feel secure and comfortable, eliminating the need for messy adhesives or the risk of your denture slipping while you talk. And because you’re replacing all of the teeth in one arch, Dr. Hernández can adjust the appearance of the denture to provide you with a new, attractive smile you’ll feel proud of showing off.

Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

Dr. Hernández will review your medical history, discuss any dental issues that may currently be of concern, and also assess your soft tissue and bone anatomy with our 3D CBCT scanner. We will need to know about any prescriptions or medical conditions you have. Implant candidates will have healthy bone density and be free of active periodontal disease, as gum infections or bone loss can reduce the success of a proposed implant procedure.
