Restorative Dentistry

Dr. José Hernández is passionate about utilizing innovative restorative dentistry techniques and materials. By tailoring your care plan to your oral health needs and lifestyle, we can help rehabilitate your smile back to its optimal function and appearance. No matter what your teeth have been through, Dr. Hernández will work with you one-on-one to develop a treatment strategy that fits your priorities and budget. We even offer an in-house membership plan for our patients without dental insurance!

Metal-Free White Composite Fillings

Our office is an amalgam-free dentistry practice, offering minimally invasive composite fillings that match the natural color of your teeth. These white dental fillings bond closely to your tooth structure, allowing us to preserve as much healthy enamel as possible while reducing the size of your restoration.

Because cavities are not always noticeable until they have reached an advanced stage of tooth decay, Dr. Hernández frequently relies on digital imaging during your checkups to screen for concerns in and between your teeth. This allows us to provide smaller, less-invasive restorations that prevent the spread of decay into adjacent tooth structures.

During your dental filling appointment, we will gently numb your tooth, remove the area of decay, and place the color-matching composite in your tooth. When you smile, you shouldn’t be able to see the filling at all because of how well it blends in with your adjacent enamel.

Custom Dental Crowns

A crown provides the highest level of protection against wear and breakage. Crowns are frequently recommended on teeth with large cavities, older amalgam fillings, after root canal treatment, or in instances involving severe tooth wear. They can also be placed on top of dental implants to replace missing teeth.

Dr. Hernández offers a variety of ceramic and porcelain crowns, including Emax, zirconia, and porcelain fused to metal designs. Each option allows for versatility in regard to function and aesthetics, depending on which tooth in your mouth is being treated and how visible it is whenever you smile. Every crown is carefully handcrafted to match the adjacent teeth, making it indistinguishable from its neighbors.

Fixed Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a fixed, multi-tooth restoration that replaces one or two teeth by suspending an artificial ceramic tooth in that open space. Either end of the bridge is anchored on top of a healthy neighboring tooth, mirroring the function of a dental crown.

Traditional bridges are set on top of a pair of healthy teeth, restoring up to two teeth at a time, while implant-supported bridges can replace up to 3-4 teeth and are usually anchored on top of two dental implants.

Gentle Root Canals

An abscessed or dying tooth requires the highest level of care to prevent total tooth loss. Endodontic therapy involves removing the dying or infected nerve inside of your tooth, then sealing it off to prevent any form of reinfection or deterioration. A crown is also needed over these teeth for them to continue functioning normally.

Dr. Hernández has additional training in root canal therapy, ensuring a comfortable process for our patients who require this advanced restorative treatment.

Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures are one of the quickest and most affordable ways to replace missing teeth. Full dentures (sometimes called “plates”) restore all of the teeth in an entire arch, while partial dentures snap into place around the healthy teeth you still have. Dr. Hernández also offers snap-on dentures/overdentures to provide added stability for your prosthesis throughout the day.

A Relaxing Treatment Experience

Each of our treatment rooms has comfort amenities like soft, warm blankets and an in-room television to enjoy your favorite show during your treatment. We also plan to offer inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide) to help our patients relax during their restorative procedure.

Which Treatment Do I Need?

During your dental exam with our Horizon City dentist, we will review all of your options and Dr. Hernández’s recommendations. By discussing the advantages of each treatment and answering any questions you may have, you can feel confident knowing you’ve chosen the best procedure for your personal needs. Flexible payment options are also available to ensure an affordable means of restoring your smile.
